Teak is a dense, durable hardwood with a rich golden-brown hue and a fine, silky grain that adds understated elegance to your models without overwhelming the figure. Known for its natural shine and resistance to moisture, teak plinths offer beautiful stability and protection. Though it is a hardwood, teak is still workable with standard tools and responds well to carving and sanding, allowing for refined shaping and a smooth finish.

Timber Finish
This plinth is finished with a matte liquid beeswax mix, which will protect the timber as you are working but will not prevent painting or shaping. As the beeswax sets and soaks into the wood, you may notice some irregularities developing. A light application of any timber oil, beeswax or varnish will restore the colour and shine to these areas.
